This Workshop took place in advance of and in conjunction with the 19th Annual Conference of the British and Irish Legal Education Technology Association at Collingwood College, Durham on 25th and 26th March 2004. It was specially addressed to academics involved in postgraduate work in information technology law.

 
The Legal Framework for the Information Society (LEFIS) initiative is an EU Erasmus/Socrates Funded project to promote co-operation in teaching and research among European University Law Schools. The network has been growing since its inception in 1999 and it now covers 61 law schools. Its activities have involved collaborative teaching and seminars, workshops and publications on key information society and teaching and learning issues.


The LEFIS WEST Workshop is intended to be a venue for discussion on the Benelux Countries, Ireland and the United Kingdom and will consider three themes:

Developments in Information Society in relation to Electronic Governance
The Experience of Postgraduate Teaching Programs
European Collaboration and Future Expansion of the LEFIS Network
